Reconstruction of refused cases

Whenever an application is refused, a refusal letter follows. In this letter (issued by visa officer) the visa officer indicates the reason(s) for refusal from a list of pre-determined possibilities. These reasons provide only basic information regarding the grounds for the refusal.

However, when an application is refused, the applicant has the right to request the visa officer’s notes supporting the reason for refusal (also known as ATIP). This report forms the base for re-application as it contains all the possible reasons of refusal in detail. Once the report is obtained, cases can be assessed whether or not the grounds for the refusal were valid and reapplied accordingly.

Most of the common reasons for refusal (e.g., Temporary Visa) are:

  • Proof of Financial Support
  • Intent to leave country after visit or Ties to home country.
  • Purpose of Visit
  • Documentation (Incomplete or Forged or Invalid)
  • Inadmissibility
